Just blown away!

My wife and I chose this break away for our honeymoon and it was booked online from research and reviews, although these results were all very good we were still concerned about how good the site and accommodation would be. When arriving at the site all our worries were forgotten as we were amazed on how good the first impressions were! The lady at reception was very welcoming and very helpful with local knowledge and suggestions on where we could visit, the lodge was just perfect with its location on site, cleanliness, and very well equipped from all the necessary cooking utensils right down to supplying dishwasher and washing machine tablets!! The hot tub was also very clean and well maintained! We ate out at the mill restaurant (on site) two nights as it was stunning and the food was amazing. Nothing at all was disappointing in any way and the whole honey moon from start to finish was just pure perfection! We would definitely book this break away again and pick the same lodge. Thank you blue chip holidays!

Great lodge but facilities could be better!

We had a relaxing break at this lodge. The surroundings are peaceful and the location is good for exploring Cornwall. We visited the restaurant once but were disappointed with the food, ambiance and front of house and therefore did not return for second visit. This is a great location for dogs too as there are fantastic walks on the doorstep. One suggestion would be the availability of bike hire as we would definitely have enjoyed exploring the area by bike. Hopefully the surroundings will not be too badly affected by what seems to be a considerable increase in the number of lodges being built here; after all the beauty of this holiday lodge undoubtedly lies in the tranquility of its surroundings.

5 Watersedge Stonerush Lakes

The environment was lovely, very peaceful and relaxing. The lodge has a wonderful position overlooking the lake and plenty of wildlife. The interior of the lodge is wonderful, bright and modern. The whole lodge is very spacious and light with everything you need from hairdryers, umbrellas to irons & laundry room in lodge. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us so the fact that the lodge was so comfortable made the rain, snow, hailstones, wind and cold more tolerable ;-) If there was a little moan to be had, it was the position of the hot tub as it is overlooked by the neighbouring lodge Watersedge 4. This could be easily rectified by extending the screening further along the balcony edge. We were lucky that the other lodge was empty for most of the stay so didn't affect us too much. Overall this is a fantastic lodge in a beautiful environment. Staff are friendly and helpful and the Old Mill Restaurant is very convenient and pleasant.

A very relaxing week

From the first day until the last we had a lovely, relaxing time. Initially we had booked another lodge on the site but because of the building work we were moved to a lodge away from it. This was told to us in plenty of time and I was seriously impressed by the customer service. We were also given a free bottle of wine for the 'inconvenience'. Although you can see that building work is occurring when you drive up the road, the noise wasn't noticeable at all! The lodge was extremely clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We ate in the restaurant one evening- he food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly. The balcony on the lodge is perfect for looking out onto the lake and the wildlife. We were visited by ducks and swans, which we loved! The hot tub is also a lovely way to relax. All in all we had a perfect stay here and we hope to come back.

Tranquil, a hidden jewel

Usually, we stay near the coast but given time of the year and possibly mixed weather we thought we would try somewhere different. I particularly love log cabins, with hot tubs and when I found this in blue chip, it seemed perfect. The main reason for choosing this particular one was, the location. We wanted the holiday experience to be perfect from the minute we woke up to the end of the day and being based on 5 Watersedge, we were able to do just that. Having first morning coffee on the deck, looking out to the hills and lakes, whilst hearing a small waterfall to the side of the lake, was bliss. Then there were lots of things to do in the day, we visited Looe, Fowey (beautiful a European feel) and Polperro (my favourite, rugged, natural beauty), and a few beaches. Then when coming back we were able to enjoy the hot tub while watching the sun go down behind the hills. We even sat in it very late, when it was raining!! The lodge itself I found convenient. The Utility room was a bonus. The doors opening up into the view of the lake was the reason why we chose 5 Watersedge, as the bedroom door opened up onto it too. One small improvement I would make is, a bit more character inside the cabin would be nice - I guess I'm spoilt by my first log cabin experience being rich in colour and decor that this was but bland. But a very small criticism as on the whole this holiday was amazing and we will definitely be back. Our favourite blue chip holiday so far.
