Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your Barn. Everything we needed was here and will definitely be back soon. We cannot believe how Central we were. If you want a drink with perfect sea views visit the Rashleigh Inn, Polkerris. PL24 2TL.

Delightful Cottage

We had a lovely holiday in your delightful cottage. Thank you for the warm welcome and information on local area. We thoroughly enjoyed The Crown Inn and the Rock Inn. We have visited several gardens and bought a plant in each of them. The weather has been very kind to us. The Top House at the Lizard does lovely fish dishes and even names the boat on which it was caught.

Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We were made to feel very welcome by David on our arrival. The Barn was lovely - really well equipped - we couldn't have wished for anything more. We loved the central location as it enabled us to visit everywhere we wanted to go in our 5 days! A real home from home - we will be back! Thanks again - hope you enjoyed the Brownies!

What a fantastic place to stay. A real home from home! Explored some of the local area and will be coming back to see more. Thank you, David & Ann for making us feel very welcome and showing us the pack of things to do - that came in useful with wet weather. Good Luck in getting your 5*s as you truly deserve them. Very happy with our accommodation at the Barn.

Very happy with our accommodation at the Barn. Well equipped with everything we need and lovely garden. Positioned well for visiting exploring many parts of Cornwall - Polperro lovely, ate at the Polmary Restaurant, seafood platter was excellent, to celebrate our Anniversary. National Trust Lanhydrock well worth a visit, can get very busy with coaches turning up - advise to get there early. Thank you, David & Ann for a lovely stay. Hope to return soon

We would certainly stay agai

The Lanhydrock Barn is ideally located for visiting all locations in upper Cornwall. We most enjoyed Polperro, Padstow,Port Isaac and Fowey. The Blue Peter in Polperro puts on a scrumptious lunch. Lost Gardens of Heligan are wonderful and David's recommendations of the Crown Inn was spot on - great meal. The Barn itself is well appointed with everything needed for creature comforts. Having rented many vacation homes in the UK and other countries, we found this top notch in terms of equipment, utility, efficiency and instructions. David met us upon arrival and was quite welcoming and informative. We would certainly stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

We loved all the wild flowers seen in profusion - bluebells, primroses, campion and of course the beautiful beech trees.

Very happy with our accommodation here at Lanhydrock Barn. We loved all the wild flowers seen in profusion - bluebells, primroses, campion and of course the beautiful beech trees. So handy for the famous Cornish Gardens - Lanhydrock of course but also Trelissick, Cotehele & Heligan of course (again!) Don't worry if your weather forecast is poor - we just went out anyway and seemed to dodge it all.

Lanhydrock Barn

What more could you ask for a restful holiday? The barn conversion was perfect for our stay, it is home from home with all the conveniences and comforts you could ever want. It seems a shame to be leaving, but no doubt we will be back in the future and recommend this beautiful barn to anyone wanting to visit this area. Polperro is a must if you like quaint fishing villages and Miss Marples tea rooms in Looe serves delicious cream teas. We would have expected the weather to be warmer at this time of year but that did not stop us from exploring the lovely countryside and of course that is one thing that you cannot change.

We have had an exciting, sunny and interesting week

We have had an exciting, sunny and interesting week. The weather has been glorious 6 days out of 7, so we have had lots of adventures! We would definitely recommend Fowey for a day trip - both food for thought and the Toll Bar do amazing food and have beautiful river and harbour view terraces. You can also hire self-drive boats from the harbour and Readymoney Cove has a beautiful beach and is an incredibly warm swimming spot. The Eden Project is fascinating and although we didn't try the skywire there ( we have a two and a half year old) it looked amazing! Fiscal Beach in Newquay is amazing if you want a relaxing beach day - remember the sunscreen though. For anyone who like theatre the Minack is a must see. However, remember to take a jacket as it can be very breezy. Lastly, if you want a good old fish supper, Rick Stein's place in Padstow is gorgeous. The Barn is an amazing place to stay and has everything you could possibly need and Dave is very friendly and helpful - we will definitely be visiting again!

Everything we need for holidaying with a baby and young child.

Thia was our first visit to Cornwall and chose Lanhydrock Barn due to its central location. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by David, very friendly and welcoming to his lovely little barn. Recommend visiting St Ives and Polperro for the true Cornish experience. Hope to return to explore some more and will definitely come back to stay at Lanhydrock Barn as it has everything we need for holidaying with a baby and young child.

Lanhydrock Barn

The "Pixie" Barn is so cute. Everything spick and span, perfect for a relaxing short break. Location excellent for exploring Cornish coast North & South. Visiting relatives in St Kew, had lunch at St Kew Inn, very good, nice atmosphere. Suggest you add 'The Earl of St Vincent' at Egloshayle to your 'Eat Out' List, The Pub is full of clocks, never seen so many in one place a & all ticking away!! Good Meals too. Thank you.

Second time around and just as good as we remembered. This is still the best place so far for being able to go anywhere in Cornwall without hours of driving. We are like the "bad penny", I'm sure that we will turn up agaqin, but with all that Cornwall has to offer why shouldn't we.

Lanhydrock Barn

We had the most wonderful stay here.First time to Cornwall and we were thoroughly impressed by the no. of things you can do here. The weather being a bit rough (we got to witness the famous storm!) we weren't able to utilize some of the days fully but still enjoyed it all. Looe was great and Polperro is breathtaking for its quaint little charm and sea views. We also went to Tintagel Castle which is another must see. Next time we'll aim for more walking and cycling. The barn itself is very comfortable and perfect for our needs. Very well equipped and everything is of good quality. David's warm welcome and introduction to the area was very helpful we truly appreciated his personal concern and attention during our stay. All in all a fabulous time and we look forward to coming back soon. Thank you very much David & Ann.

Have enjoyed a wonderful short break here in the Barn

Have enjoyed a wonderful short break here in the Barn. As previous guests have said, the location is great for exploring a bit of Cornwall (although we feel that there is much more to see, just not enough time) - everywhere we went to seemed to take half an hour to get to in the car! (or less) For an amazing beach, Bedruthan Steps is a must - be sure to check out the tide times though! A wonderful place to wander along and explore incredible scenery, but be aware of just how quickly the tide come in (we've never seen anything like it), it would be so easy to get caught looking out at the turquoise sea but end up having to wade back through the sea to the main beach!! Rick Stein's fish & chips didn't disappoint in Padstow, though made full use of the barbecue for other dinners (the garden is a lovely sun trap). The Eden Project makes for a good and interesting day out (particularly on a day of sunshine and showers!) Thank you for a lovely stay.

A lovely central location

A lovely central location, ideally situated for visiting all areas of Cornwall. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit to St.Michael's Mount - a good work out climbing up to the house but well worth it. Port Isaac (Port Wenn Doc Martin) also worth a visit - enjoy a coffee and cake at the "Cupcake Cafe". The weather has been fabulous with no rainy days. Although we have visited many places there are plenty more to see. Thank you, David, for the warm welcome and all the helpful information packet as well as the milk, tea and biscuits. Please add "Wreckers" in Charlestown to your list - food and service excellent.

Barn is lovely, well equipped and so central for touring. Lanhydrock House is definitely worth visiting, also Port Isaac and Clovelly. Barn is well placed for visiting a lot of areas.

Barn is well placed for visiting a lot of areas. It is well equipped, more than expected - will be recommended. We've had a lovely sunny week and ventured out nearby and further afield - Bodmin, Heligan, Port Isaac to name a few. We were told (advised) to visit the Lost Gardens of Heligan by a shop assistant. She also recommended trying their pineapple cake - lovely & moist. Try the Borough Arms Dunmere just North of Bodmin. Have a Carvery on every day - very good. Thank you for all your hospitality David and Ann. We hope to return.

Lanhydrock Barn

Lovely modern, comfortable accommodation and a perfect base for exploring Cornwall. Both North and South coasts are within easy reach. We particularly enjoyed Padstow and Bude to the North and Charlestown and Fowey to the South. We would recommend a trip to Cotehele (National Trust) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The house at Lanhydrock (also National Trust) is also well worth a visit and the river walk near Respryn is beautiful. We will certainly be recommending this property to family and friends. Many thanks to David and Ann for their warm welcome, help and advice.

Cottage excellent as before!

Cottage excellent as before! Recommendations: • Angeliques Tea Room, Port Isaac But Not in the harbour - near garage between Port Isaac and Port Gaverne PL29 3SE. Best cream teas and try the Cornish Splits - slightly sweet rolls which are an alternative to scones. • Coastal Walk to Kynance Cove (NT) with tea shop in the cove! • Cadgwith Cove Inn - Park at the top of the village and walk down. Still a local pub with local people. • Trellisk Gardens (NT) • Lanhydrock Garden Tour with Karl Rodgers (NT)

Lanhydrock Barn

We have been coming on holiday to Cornwall for 25 years. In all that time we have stayed at St Ives (where we have a timeshare) and/or Tintagel and both have been great for family and more recently our own holidays. We have visited this part of Cornwall but never stayed until now - What a revelation! There is just so much to do and see around here and Lanhydrock Barn is just a perfect base for exploring the South Coast. We have visited so many places that we just hadn't had time for before and still have lots more we wish to see. Gorran Haven, Mevagissey, Fowey, Looe and Charlestown are all well worth a visit and each has its own charm and character. Like one of the earlier occupants we ate in most nights but did have some memorable lunches and evening meals - our favourites were the Ship Inn at Lerryn (the mussels were fantastic) and the Fountain Inn in Mevagissey where we had the fish special (mackerel fillets) which was absolutely lovely - the best chips we have had for years! We also had a great steak at the Lanivet Inn. The Crown Inn in Lanlivery is very nice, but we did not eat there unfortunately. All in all, we had a fantastic week here in the barn which we felt was a 'home from home'. David and Ann were very welcoming and helpful and we will be recommending to all. Thank very much, P.S. Please read all the previous reviews as there is some good advice and we would not disagree with any of it!

We had a wonderful week. We really like the barn, which is in a great position and ideal for either coast. Have visited the Eden Project, Fowey, Mevagissey, Padstow, Port Isaac and Polzeath. The weather was mixed but ended up with a very sunny Friday which was very nice. Went for a swim at Hystyns which was also very nice. Thank you!

Lanhydrock Barn

Had a relaxing two weeks back in Cornwall. Enjoyed visiting Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown, Padstow, Fowey, Polperro, Looe, Tintagel castle, Lanhydrock House and Port Isaac. Visited Port Isaac twice and was lucky enough to see the filming of "Doc Martin" on 2nd visit. Not a bad way to spend our last day! Also enjoyed the wildlife and animals on Bodmin Moor. Thank you for the warm welcome and all the information. We have really enjoyed our stay at Lanhydrock Barn. Many Thanks, David and Ann.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome and goodies! The barn is so comfortable and well thought out. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the mixed weather. Regards.

After a very long and stressful journey, David's greeting was just what we needed to pop us back up again!

After a very long and stressful journey, David's greeting was just what we needed to pop us back up again! What a really nice man. Tha barn was well equipped and perfectly placed to do some serious exploring. Be sure to visit King Arthur's Halls at Tintagel, its just amazing and you'll be astounded at what one man's vision can turn in to. Charlestown and mevagissey were both beautiful fishing villages, the "Sharksfin" in "Meva" was great for Dinner, we went back twice! Trebarwith Strand is a must, just find it and you will see why ... Also the Cornish Military Museum was fascinating and passed a few hours on the one rainy day we had. Many thanks, David & Ann.

Spring break at Lanhydrock Barn

Spring is the perfect time to come to Lanhydrock Barn. You will be surrounded by primroses and bluebells, and the massive beech trees will be splendid in their acid green foliage. The crowds have yet to arrive. Lanhydrock Barn is a cosy hideaway just right for two people. It has everything you will need, (though we found our slow-cooker an ideal addition......we came home to succulent hot meals at night, ready and waiting). The Barn is high spec, and spotlessly clean. You are secluded but not isolated. We chose this location as it was within easy reach of several nationally important gardens....Lanhydrock of course, but also Trelissick, Heligan, Eden, Trebar, Glendurgan, and Cotehele. We were not disappointed! But if walking, cycling, or hunting down deserted beaches is more your style, we would recommend Lanhydrock Barn.

Lanhydrock Barn

The barn was a lovely well equipped spot from which to launch our visit to Cornwall. The beautiful weather all week long was an asset. We particularly enjoyed the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project and Lanhydrock. Kynance Cove was wonderful and well worth the trip particularly in good weather. Because of the time of year we had daylight for extra hours so late visits to Port Isaac and the Lizard were uncrowded and much more pleasant than they might have been. Also suggest a walk along the Camel trail. We left from Scarletts Well Rd in Bodmin and a walk round the charming village of St Neot on the edge of Bodmin Moor is a special treat. Thanks Ann & David for the suggestion of the London Inn where we had a delicious Ploughman's Lunch. All in all, a delightful week. Many Thanks. David, Enjoyed our final chat. Best wishes to Ann.

The barn is fabulous

We have had a wonderful holiday, the barn is fabulous and in a great spot to be able to tour around. We even got to see the Cornish Pixies. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
