There aren’t many ferries that ship passengers from one county to another, and this one does it in just a few minutes. The Torpoint Ferry runs a regular service between Devon and its neighbour Cornwall. The ferry service has operated since 1791, and transports visitors across the river regularly every day of the week for just a small charge.
It not only means that visitors of either county get to enjoy the attractions on the other side of the water (and a holiday snap beside the county sign!) but the journey itself is good fun. The chain ferry takes cars and pedestrians (pedestrians and bikes travel free of charge) and ferries run around the clock.
