Fowey may be famous for its scenic river that inspired the ‘Wind in the Willows’ stories but that’s not to say that its beaches don’t have plenty to offer too. Poldridmouth Beach is a hidden gem typical of the small sandy coves that dot the area.
There’s an unspoilt charm to the cove, and if you’re happy to enjoy an uncommercial spot with a secluded feel to it then you’ll enjoy a visit to this beach. There’s no dog ban on the beach either so it’s a favourite with dog walkers, and as the car park is around a mile from the sand it’s a nice one if you don’t mind a little walk on the way. There’s safe bathing at Poldridmouth Beach although it’s best to bear in mind that there’s no lifeguard service in the area.
Lastly, if you have any little explorers who love nothing more than exploring rock pools this is a great spot, so don’t forget the buckets and nets if you visit the cove.
