Experience life in your very own pod, right in the gorgeous Falmouth countryside. Trecombe Lakes is home to our collection of sustainable wooden pods, and they’re the perfect way to discover glamping in style. Designed to be warm and cosy in the winter and just cool enough in the summer, the clever pods have everything you need to unwind, spend time together and feel closer to nature during your time in Cornwall.
When the sunshine beckons, you’ll be able to wake up and step outside to your own decked area for that leisurely breakfast, and as every pod has its own kitchen you can cook up those feasts for the family without even leaving your home from home. Sustainable materials mean the pods have been designed with the environment in mind, and each one has a bright, spacious feel that makes for a relaxing stay.
Barbecues and fire pits
We know that one of the nicest things about escaping to Cornwall is the chance to spend time outside and enjoy the fresh air. Life at Trecombe Lakes should be all about staying up late with your own fire crackling and dining outside with the breeze in your hair – and there’s good news. Every pod has its own decked area complete with a barbeque, so you’ll be able to pick your favourite fodder and cook it in the traditional Cornish way – outdoors!
And, because no glamping experience would be complete without watching the flames of a fire flicker while the sun sets, you’ll find your own fire pit just waiting for you to get the fire going and show the kids how to toast marshmallows…
The lodge house
Head to the Lodge House and you’ll be able to peek into the lives of the local wildlife without even leaving the site. Video links have been set up to barn owl, bat and bird boxes throughout the resort, so you can while away some time watching your neighbours. The links are a lovely way to get the kids thinking about the area’s wildlife, and we can’t think of a more relaxing way to feel closer to nature.
The Lodge House is also home to communal games, books and DVDs, so you’ll have plenty to entertain you if you get a wet day during your stay (or if you just fancy some time in your home from home!).
The play area
If your idea of the perfect afternoon is kicking back while the kids let off steam and have a great time, you’ll find an adventure play area just moments from your pod. The woodland play area’s a peaceful spot where the younger members of the clan can let off steam and make memories, and there’s something to suit every age group.
There’s an upturned boat, a climbing wall, a tree house (well every glamping break needs a tree house), climbing nets and rope swings for budding Tarzans. The play area’s safely fenced off from the site’s lakes, so you can let the kids enjoy themselves with peace of mind.
Just five miles from the beautiful resort of Falmouth, Trecombe Lakes is a handy setting for those of you keen to explore one of Cornwall’s most popular destinations. With its famous harbour, sandy beaches and plenty to tempt foodies, Falmouth has something to keep you busy no matter when you visit.
If you fancy a quiet day exploring the local countryside, pick up one of the trails that run beside the Helford river…winding its way past ancient woodland, the river passes plenty of friendly pubs for those lazy lunches.
