Maenporth is a gorgeous sandy cove just two miles from the centre of Falmouth. It has views across Falmouth Bay (and Pendennis Castle) and it’s close to the many walks that head in the direction of the Helford River. Maenporth Beach is a favourite with families on Falmouth beach holidays, and it’s a great place for a day in the sun or enjoying the water.
The beach slopes gently, leading to shallow waters with plenty of rock pools to discover so this is a nice spot for those of you with small children. Look out for the ship wreck visible off the shore at low tide, and bear this choice of beach in mind if you enjoy water activities as there are plenty going on. Choose from kayaking, sailing or even SCUBA diving
If you don’t mind stretching your legs why not walk along the South West Coast Path to this ebach from the centre of town? It’ll take you around 50 minutes and it’s a nice way to enjoy the views as you make your way there. If you prefer to head straight for the beach there’s car parking just behind the beach and it’s a bargain during high season at just £3 per day.
