Now who doesn't love a bit of sea shanty? Well, the rousing Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival runs every year for two days during June, and with two aims to entertain and support the RNLI it's one of those events that brings everyone together with a classic tradition. Founded by local group, Falmouth Shout, the festival sees performances of local and nautical songs that have stood the test of time throughout the town over the 3 days as well as a whole programme of entertainment.
What's a visit to Cornwall without testing out your traditional sea shanty skills? The performances are always lively and catchy, and even if you've never heard the songs you'll pick the chorus up in minutes and have no excuse not to add your voice to the group's. Venues throughout Falmouth welcome Shanty groups, and trust us, fish and chips taste all the better to the sound of sea shanty raising vital funds for the RNLI!
