Inside, 10 Southern Halt is furnished to the highest possible standard, with a true homely feel as soon as you enter the front door. The open plan living, kitchen and dining area is spacious yet cosy, with plenty of natural light coming through the doors that lead to your private decked terrace area.

Both bedrooms are furnished with a modern feel, and being set in a secluded location, you’re sure to get a restful night’s sleep after a long day of exploring the local area.

Outside, the lodge has its own decked terrace area with sensational countryside views. There is also a private hot tub, great for creating a true sense of rest and relaxation.

THE BEST!!

We stayed at 10 Southern Halt for a long weekend in September!! I instantly fell in love as soon as I walked through the door. Firstly the gate and property entry was brilliant as we didn't arrive until late on the Friday evening it was very convenient for us. The complimentary pack was a lovely touch and there was a coffee machine (major bonus). The lodge was very comfortable and extremely clean!!! Me and my partner didn't venture out far as we felt like we never needed too. The hot tub was fab with amazing views.. Looking to book for a short break over Christmas this year. Would 100% recommend! Can honestly say one of the best places I've ever stayed in England.. It feels like home from home.

Wonderful

Luxurious new accommodation in a peaceful location, fully equipped with absolutely everything needed for an extremely comfortable stay. I actually felt the website did not do this property enough justice and was amazed by extras like a TV in every bedroom, and a coffee machine. The hot-tub was great and in the perfect position to take on the full views which we over looked-it was checked on a daily basis which was reassuring. The site currently has only 5 lodges on it, but has room for 15, so due to this and the fact we went out of season it was extremely quiet-just as we like it. Dobwalls itself was small but had a spar for all essentials and a pub, was a bit lacking for public footpaths though, as I had hoped to be able to wander for hours through the countryside with my dog. The only thing I felt the accommodation missed was an airer to dry clothes on, as although their was a washer drier I don't like to put all clothes through the drier. Overall this is the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, which far outweighed my expectations.

Country views at their best!

If you're looking for a quiet location with absolutely fabulous views then this is for you. Our lodge looked straight over the open countryside into the far distance, truly lovely. The lodge itself had all the comforts of home and was well maintained. Complimentary bottle of wine, water and milk was much appreciated as well. The Highwayman pub in Dobwalls serves very nice basic food at reasonable cost, however you do need to drive to get there as the lane on which the site is situated off is not pedestrian or dog friendly. If you take a dog please be aware the grounds around the lodges are all open-plan and dogs have to be on a lead at all times when outside. NO immediate dog walks from the site either. The nearest we found was a couple of miles away at Golitha Falls, or drive a bit further and you're on the Moor but there were sheep around there. Felt sad to leave at the end of our week...we were lucky to have good weather.....and the full moon viewed from the hot tub FABULOUS!

10 Southern Halt

I recently stayed here with my partner for New Year. The security gate on arrival was easy to use and clearly signposted. The lodges were based in very neat surroundings and amazing views of fields. It was very quiet and peaceful. We only had 1 car that fitted nicely at the back of the lodge but there is plenty of room for another car to the side. The lodge itself was very clean and finished to a high standard. The little touches like the Christmas tree being up, a present on the table for us, wine and chocolates, a pint of milk, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, clothes and sponges and even washing power made the stay even more personal. There was ample of room inside the lodge for a family of 4. The fire in the living area provided much needed warmth during Storm Frank. The wind and rain noise was slightly disturbing during the first night but the lodge alays felt warm. We didn't get much chance to use the hot tub due to the weather but on the occasion that we did, it was easy to use, warmer than I expected during winter and very close to the door to go back inside. There were lights outside and around the lodges but none of them seemed to be working which made the area very, very dark and a little nerving. Another thing to point out is that you struggle for a mobile signal and there isn't any wifi. We aren't social media geeks but it would be handy to use wifi to look for restaurants and find things to do in the local area.

New Year Break

Wonderful lodge! Looked just like the photos both inside and out. The facilities were excellent, we had milk, juice and wine in the fridge when we arrived which was a lovely touch. We both really enjoyed our stay and have recommended friends who are booking the lodge too! Thank you for a brilliant holiday!

Amazing

Lovely lodge, exceptionally clean. Everything catered for, a real home from home holiday. Very modern and light. Hot tub was wonderful, especially at night under the stars drinking champagne. All in all a very relaxing and quiet holiday, just what we needed after our very busy lives. Could not recommend enough.

Summer break

The lodge is exceptional, and the photos do not do it justice. The lodges are secluded, and are perfect for a quiet holiday. The local area was limited, but larger towns are accessible within 10-15 minutes via car. It is a perfect base for accessing Cornwall. The accommodation exceeded my expectation and will certainly be coming back to Southern Halt.

Southern Halt Dobwalls

Had an amazing week in Southern Halt Dobwalls (8th July 2016). Stayed in number 10. Lovely property with outstanding views of the local countryside. Facilities inside the lodge were great, everything you might need for a comfortable stay - including little extras such as tea, coffee, milk, soap and washing powder. Perfect for families, especially families with dogs. Would recommend highly.
