Description

Nestled in the village of Charlestown, Pelican Cottage offers a luxurious family-friendly base for exploring Cornwall. Internally the property has been furnished to a high standard in a contemporary style. Externally, the property has an enclosed garden complete with furniture and barbecue and is within a short walk of the centre of the village.

Charlestown is situated near St. Austell and, during years gone by, was of great importance to the local economy as its port was used to import coal and export local China Clay. Despite the decline of the China Clay industry, the harbour remains an important focal point and provides a permanent berth for square-riggers.

St Austell itself is the meeting point of old and new Cornwall, of ancient narrow streets and pedestrian precincts with fine shops and restaurants. The bay has numerous sandy beaches and fishing villages. Renowned attractions, such as The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan, are close by.

This property especially welcomes families. There is a cot and highchair provided for younger guests, plus a stair gate, baby bouncer and changing mat, blackout blinds and enclosed garden with sun loungers, table and barbecue.

The Pelican Experience

Great cottage, very comfortable, but lounge light fittings much to low. I am 6ft 4ins tall! In addition, the lawn grass was to long, it spoiled the image somewhat.

Pelican Cottage

We've had a wonderful week here. Lovely cottage and great location. Had a great day out at Morrwellham Quay and the beach at Perranporth was lovely. Enjoyed food at Charlie's Boathouse. Would definitely come back here and recommend. Thank you!

Wonderful cottage...

A wonderful cottage, beautifully positioned and really well equipped, maintained and decorated. We have had a fabulous week, exploring St. Austells and its surrounding area. Polkerris is a lovely cove to visit with a great pub on the shore. Thanks for a lovely place to visit will definitely come back again one day.

Pelican Cottage

Excellent cottage that is very well equipped, the owners appear to have thought of everything. A real home from home! Charlestown is lovely and an excellent base for exploring Cornwall. For a small harbour village it has numerous options for eating out but would recommend Charlie's Boathouse and Wrecker's, but do advise to book. Can see why many people return to Pelican Cottage. We shall definitely come back!

Pelican Cottage

The cottage was delightful. The layout was excellent for the three of us, and the facilities and equipment for our stay were exactly what we needed and of good quality. We would recommend it to anyone who wished to stay in the area.

Location, Location, Location!!!!

Pelican Cottage is situated in Charlestown which is a beautiful harbour town just outside of St Austell. Charlestown has a number of excellent restaurants as well as a harbour that provides excellent enjoyment for all the family. The cottage is in a gated community and is extremely quiet all the time. The cottage has everything you need and is very well presented. The Eden Project is about a 10 minute drive, and Newquay is about a 25 minute drive. An outstanding holiday in a truly beautiful part of the country. Looking forward already to going back.
