So this is a funny one, Margaret’s Rustic Tea Room consists of a bright green camper van come tea van in the middle of a beautiful garden with picnic benches. Sounds a bit eccentric? It’s fantastic. You’ll find the tea room close to Northcott Mouth Cove near Bude just a few yards from the beach, and Margaret will give you a warm welcome that’ll leave you feeling glad you popped in even before you try the cream teas.
There’s always a treat for dogs on hand, and if you visit when the sun’s shining you can pick one of the picnic benches that dot the gardens and look out to sea while you tuck in. There’s nowhere quite like this quirky little tea garden, and if you’re ever in the area we’d say stopping by to meet Margaret and enjoy her snacks is a must.
Margaret’s Rustic Tea Room has been a feature of this beautiful spot for more than half a century, and there’s always a great atmosphere that has diners returning year after year to catch up with Margaret and rediscover the unspoilt little gardens. There’s even a bubbling river that runs alongside them, and one reviewer described the experience as like eating in fairy land…enjoy.
