The Dell, Whitsand Bay, Cornwall

Number 2 in Coast Magazine's round up of places to stay for Valentine's Day

What Coast Magazine said:

"From a secluded boathouse to a boutique boudoir, there are plenty of places around the coast to escape to with your loved one this Valentine's Day..."

The Dell, South Cornwall

"Why here?  This cliff top chalet offers stunning views over Whitsand Bay.  The stylish pad is lined with cream-coloured wood-panelling and decorated with shells and driftwood, but the extraordinary suspended L-shaped decked area, which juts out over the cliff edge, is its most stunning feature; the perfect place to watch the sun set after an alfresco meal with a glass of fizz.  If you want to eat out try the award-winning The View, a two-minute drive away, which specialises in local fish dishes.  Nearby Millbrook is well worth a visit, with some lovely, cosy pubs, as well as the marina.

Where's the nearest beach?  There are four miles of sandy beaches to explore at Whitsand Bay, and a surf school at the base of Tregonhawke Cliff, just a couple of minutes away."
