The Cambridgeshire Fens

The Cambridgeshire Fens

Things To Do

The perfect day out for those times when you just want to rediscover the Great Outdoors and feel a world away from the hustle and bustle, the Cambridgeshire Fens cover 200 square miles between Cambridge and Peterborough.

Known for its wildlife, and ever-popular with cyclists thanks to its flat terrain, the Fenland’s a great day out for families, walkers and those of you who just like to escape the crowds of the town now and then and enjoy the views. One of the area’s biggest draws is its wildlife, and no matter which season you visit you’ll have plenty of opportunity to pack up a picnic and settle down for an hour or two or peaceful birdwatching, or just hop on to your bikes and see what you can spot along the way.

The roads are quiet too, so if it’s been too long since you hopped onto your bikes and followed a river for a leisurely ride then this is the place to get back in the saddle. Some of the towns that make up the Fens make for great days out too, and you’ll find market towns like March, Chatteris and Whittlesey waiting to welcome you.
