Come and join the fun at Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival

You haven’t experienced a festival until you’ve been to one on the Isle of Wight, and the island hosts the Yarmouth Old Gaffers Festival between 31 May and 2 June. Better still, this year’s marks 50 years of the Old Gaffers Association. The festival opens on The Quay at noon on Friday 31 May, so come along and watch Vectis Corps of Drums make their way to the waterside to greet Neptune as he arrives by sea on a traditional old gaffer.

The fun starts in Weymouth this Friday

The eyes of the world will fall on Weymouth this Friday, and the bay is set to mark the Opening Ceremony with a firework display worthy of the Olympians.

The Weymouth Bayside Festival also starts on 27 July and runs until 12 August throughout the Olympics. This scenic site will be THE place to enjoy the atmosphere and tickets will be available upon entry each day from 10am. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children.

Visitors to Weymouth will have a prime view of the Olympic sailing events thanks to an observation tower on the seafront next year.
