The Isle of Wight Cycling Festival will take place from 22 – 30 September, and the programme’s packed with events.

Highlights include displays by stunt riders, special junior rides and the Wight Challenge.

More than half of the Isle of Wight is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so the festival is a great opportunity to enjoy the scenery on two wheels.  Don’t worry if you’re not too confident, there are trails and events for all levels during the festival

The St Ives September Festival will take place from 8 – 22 September and the programme is jam packed with music, literature and arts events.

St Ives Holiday Cottages The picturesque Cornwall resort will play host to acts such as Billy Bragg, The Beat, The Blockheads, Cara Dillon and many more.

Ok so we might not quite be ready to welcome autumn yet, but the Harvest Food and Drink Festival (8 – 16 September) at the Eden Project is a reminder of everything golden about the season.

Cornwall’s most popular attraction hosts a packed festival which includes celebrity chef appearances, expert talks on food and drink, live music and entertainment, as well as delicious tastings of food, cider, beer and wine.

Eden will open late on 13 September for a food extravaganza and the festival will see The Eden Project divided into separate sections that will form a haven for all Harvest lovers.

Devon gets a chance to see Bradley Wiggins in action

Missed out on the Olympics action? Well there’s another chance to see Bradley Wiggins doing what he does best next month as he rides through North Devon.

The champion will be cycling for Team Sky in the Tour of Britain, and stage seven of the tour starts in Barnstaple on 15 September.

 Stage seven will end in Dartmouth on the same day, so don’t miss the chance to cheer the Tour de France and Olympic champion on during his time in Devon!

Agatha Christie loved the English Riviera, and since she penned many of her timeless mysteries in the area it’s the perfect place for the festival.

There’s something you don’t see every day touring the South West coast this month, a brand new island nation fresh from the Arctic.

The striking piece of land is stopping off the shore of various resorts throughout Devon and Cornwall as part of Nowhereisland, part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.

There’s lots happening both on dry land and offshore in Torbay this August, as Torbay Week coincides with the Royal Sailing Regatta.

The events take place from 24 – 29 August and form the peak of the sailing season in South Devon. Onshore there will be a fair on the seafront, a stunning appearance from the Red Arrows and a firework display to top Torbay Week off.

Out at sea four full days of sailing will keep spectators entertained and mark the 199th year of the Torbay Royal Regatta. Whether you love family fun or dry land or sailing sheltered waters in a memorable event, don’t miss out!

The fun starts in Weymouth this Friday

The eyes of the world will fall on Weymouth this Friday, and the bay is set to mark the Opening Ceremony with a firework display worthy of the Olympians.

The Weymouth Bayside Festival also starts on 27 July and runs until 12 August throughout the Olympics. This scenic site will be THE place to enjoy the atmosphere and tickets will be available upon entry each day from 10am. Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for children.

The area will host big screens so you can watch the action as it unfolds, an Olympic Sailing Heritage Exhibition, an extreme skate park, live acts, military displays and much more.
