Lying at the heart of the picturesque village of Tuckenhay, South Devon, The Old Bakehouse, valued at over £3 million, provides the perfect self-catering venue for a large family gathering. Sat on the River Dart, at high tide you can feed the local swans from the ground floor windows or sit on the landing stage and relax in the natural beauty of the creek. Sustainable holidays
Built in 1750 and renovated in 2007-2008, The Old Bakehouse has been sympathetically restored and enhanced with sustainability in mind. Its oak framed double glazed windows are filled with argon. Solar thermal hot water panels provide 30% of the property's hot water, and under floor heating helps to achieve toasty room temperatures at a fraction of the water temperature required by radiators. Capped off by light level and movement sensors, digital showers which help save water, and water efficient loos, a stay at The Old Bakehouse is designed to be a sustainable one.
