Newquay in November

Posted by alan in NewquayFistral BeachCornwall

Newquay in November is a very different place as I found yesterday (Wed. 19th).  I was lucky with the weather which brightened up by mid-morning and with the sun shining shows the coastline off to its best.  If you are thinking about an out of season break in Newquay, here's what you might expect.

The town was very quiet.  I saw this as a positive in that you can easily get into the town as the traffic was light and there is no problem parking. I even managed to park in one of the free bays on Esplanade Road overlooking Fistral Beach - that was a first.

Speaking of Fistral Beach, there was one car in the car park at 10am - surely another first!  Even though it was pleasant enough to sit and have a coffee outside Fistral Blu, I pretty much had the place to myself and there were no surfers in the water.

Back in the centre of Newquay and round the harbour, the lack of visitors meant there was a relaxed ambience with quick service in cafes and restaurants and no crowds in the local shops.  All the shop assistants are still smiling and friendly though!
