Step into Christmas on the Santa Express

It’s time to get festive on the Dartmouth Steam Railway

I’ve been looking for Christmassy events that are a little bit different lately, and you have to admit, it’s not every day you hop aboard Devon’s answer to the Polar Express. The Dartmouth Steam Railway comes over all festive throughout December, and the return journey from Paignton to Kingswear includes mince pies, mulled wine for the grown ups AND (wait for it…) a visit from the man in red himself.

The Dartmouth Steam Railway Paignton station looks warm and welcoming no matter which time of year you visit, but step inside during this month and you’ll be greeted by a crackling log fire to make you feel extra Christmassy and keep you cosy while you wait for your train.

If you thought you were going to make it through Christmas without a panto then think again, this year’s onboard entertainment will be a miniature version of Peter Pan, and no matter how young or old you are your help’s going to be needed to banish Captian Hook before Santa and his helpers can appear and deliver their gifts (OH YES IT IS!).

Now for the important bits...the Santa Express leaves from Paignton on the 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th December. Booking is essential on 01803 555872.
