Introducing The Fuzzy Dog Bakery in Whitby

Think there's no such thing as a bakery just for dogs...? Think again!

We’ve only gone and done it…we’ve found you the ultimate dog friendly attraction – and you’re going to be as excited as we are. Ladies and gentlemen, pooches and owners, may we present The Fuzzy Dog, a bakery in Whitby that’s especially for dogs. Yep, that’s right, the newly-opened bakery prides itself on serving yummy treats for dogs.

From the outside, The Fuzzy Dog could be any other Yorkshire bakery, tempting smells waft from the door and big welcoming windows tempt passers-by, but step inside and you’ll find a whole selection of doggie treats, and even if you’ve got something of a fussy four-legged friend the owner Lou’s confident she’s got something he or she will enjoy.

The bakery’s run and owned by Lou, a delightfully dog mad baker who gave up a job in London to up sticks and open her doggie bakery in the beautiful seaside town of Whitby, and part of the fun of a visit is choosing your dog’s treats from the selection of quirky biscuits and cakes. Choose from bats and skulls, hearts and stars, and you can even shop by flavour so your dog can have his favourite. Favourites include fish, beef, liver and pork, and the ‘porky rolls’ are one of the most popular treats on offer.

Lou’s careful not to include any additives or sugar in her products, and the treats look so good she’s even had one or two people come in and think they were for humans…the less said about that the better!

If you’re wondering how you’ll ever control your dog while you browse the wares don’t worry, Lou’s one step ahead, you’ll find biscuit-filled dog bowls on the counter to keep your pet entertained while you bag a few treats. But it’s not only foodie treats Lou offers, The Fuzzy Dog’s fast becoming one of Whitby’s most popular shops for doggie accessories and gifts, and if you’re staying in the area it’s a quirky place to pick up some souvenirs for those back home.
