Hurray! Poldark's back in Cornwall

It's a tough job, but somebody's got to spot Poldark

Now if you’re anything like us you’ll be keen to hear of the latest sightings of Poldark and Demelza in Cornwall, and we’re only too happy to keep our eyes peeled and oblige as soon as we hear anything. Well, our favourite fictional husband and wife team have been spotted looking loved up on Porthcurno Beach in Cornwall in recent weeks, as the cameras roll for the second series.

The crew were shooting scenes of Ross and Demelza sharing kisses on the sand and paddling in the sea, and if you’ve ever visited Porthcurno you’ll agree that they couldn’t have picked a more scenic backdrop to the romantic scenes for the next series. Speaking of which, we don’t have an air date for the series as yet, but we do know that the case will welcome Endless Love’s Gabriella Wilde and W1A’s Hugh Skinner.

Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson, who play Ross and Demelza, were seen wandering the cliffs that surround the beach to shoot further scenes during their day in Porthcurno, and they laughed and joked as they made their way to the top of one to shoot a windswept scene high above the waves.

You’ll find Porthcurno right in the far west corner of Cornwall, and it’s one of the county’s most unspoilt sandy beaches. With many an award to its name, it’s one of those West Country beaches that’s all white sand and clear seas, and thanks to the cliffs that rise high on either side it’s sheltered from the wind too.

BBC 1 has confirmed that the scenes are being shot for the second series of Poldark after it helped the BBC to achieve its strongest year in a decade, and if the rumours are true, they’re planning on four more in total. Roll on Poldark’s return to our screens…
