After a long week of work (and for one of us) no sleep, crying babies and school runs, we arrive at the beautiful Stonerush Lakes.
The modern wooden lodges were a welcome sight, nestled as the name would suggest in a quiet valley surrounded by the beautiful Cornish countryside. As soon as we step out of the car we instantly relax because it is so peaceful. Not a sound of a single car, just birds in the trees. We head to the Old Mill Restaurant/reception and are greeted by a very welcoming and friendly member of the team and given our lodge information.
7 Lakeview is one of the newest lodges at Stonerush Lakes and as soon as we step into the lodge we were hit with the nice `new’ smell and were immediately impressed by the high standard of cleanliness. 7 Lakeview is really well equipped and been well thought out, having everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Each room was spacious, bright and tastefully finished to an excellent standard.
We immediately felt at home and opened up every door to let in the summer breeze and were astounded by the stunning views that surrounded us on the decked balcony. The green hills, lakes and trees, were such a difference from the busy city life that we’re used to. We really were in the middle of nowhere and it was amazing, peaceful and very relaxing.
The decked area seems to get the sun all day and we took full advantage of this by sitting outside with our cheese, bread and prosecco. We took in the beautiful sunshine and relaxed in the tranquillity which was only made better by the private hot tub tucked around the corner on the deck.
The property was fantastic and I would have no hesitation in recommending it and Stonerush Lakes generally. It really was a much needed retreat away from our busy lives and would have happily stayed there forever!
