As the clocks roll back an hour and the evenings seem all long and cosy, it’s starting to feel a teeny bit like Christmas. I know you’re rolling your eyes, but in a matter of days you’ll start to see Christmas trees sheepishly popping up in shops and your mind will slowly turn to festive ponderings. Ponderings like how and where you’re going to spend this year’s festive season – and most importantly – who you’ll spend it with.
I love everything about Christmas, and one of the best things about my job is that I get to look at all those beautiful Christmassy cottages that are just waiting to welcome their guests to make cosy Christmas memories that’ll last a lifetime. Take The Barn in Devon for example…as we welcomed it to our portfolio this year and we started leafing through its photos, all I could think of was a lazy Christmas morning surrounded by those rather lavish features and mile after mile of English countryside.
And then there are the countless properties that go the extra mile and belong to our Deck the Halls collection. Pick yourself a Christmas in one of these festive gems and we’ll ensure that the property looks the part…complete with a decorated Christmas tree, decorations, and even (in some cases) yuletide treats to welcome you after your journey.
I fell back in love with the traditional Christmas last year, and me and my dad rather proudly ticked every “we’re doing Christmas properly this year” box. The Christmas dinner was roasted to perfection, festive favourites were watched and the countryside wandered while we reflected on our years, so I say start thinking about where you’ll while away your perfect Christmas this year so that you can snap up your perfect property.
If you’re thinking this is the Christmas where you’re finally going to gather the precious few and slink off somewhere gorgeous for a few days of peace, quiet and indulgence, you’ll find everything from thatched cottages with roll top baths (now that’s how to spend Christmas Eve…) to manor houses with kitchens you’ll love.
There’s something about whiling away Christmas in your very own bolthole that makes it feel even more special, and just imagine walking off that Christmas dinner with a wander along the South West Coast Path and then settling down in front of the log burner. So, how about Christmas dinner on an AGA and a sofa with a view this year? Click here to browse properties in our ever so festive Deck the Halls collection.
