Last week I was given the opportunity to stay and visit our newest glamping site on the Isle of Wight. Not knowing what to expect, I turned up to the site with an open mind. I was happily greeted by the property owner, who showed me around and gave me suggestions for what I could do on the Island and where I could find my nearest shop.
We made our way over to one of the traditional huts, Bay, which I’d be staying in for the 2 nights I was on the Island. As we approached the hut, we walked across a peaceful field that had the most amazing view looking out across the Island. The hut had its own outdoor space with chairs and cushions. I sat there reading my book in the evenings, looking out onto the view that presented the most amazing sunsets when the clouds cleared.
We stepped inside the hut and I immediately noticed how light the property was. The hut was stylishly decorated and supplied with everything you may need whilst away from home. I noticed there was a TV, plenty of space to prepare food and a shower room at the back.
After showing me around, the property owner said goodbye to let me settle in. I made myself a cup of tea with the facilities provided and cosied up on the sofa with a blanket to watch something on the TV. Although there is no WIFI at the property, I didn’t feel like I needed it as there was the TV and all the information I needed in the welcome folder or on the rack with the attraction leaflets on.
The sofa and double bed were extra comfortable; I could sleep and rest all day there if I could. The fixtures and fittings there were all high quality and everything worked seamlessly. I felt like I was in my own little bubble, where I could escape and forget about all my worries.
As I was leaving Buttercup barn retreats to catch my ferry to the mainland, I could tell I felt rejuvenated and rested after my stay there. I’d like to say thank you to the owner who was so accommodating and made me feel so welcomed. I’d definitely go back and bring a friend and my dog along with me, as there looked to be lots of lovely walks in the area too.
